How reviews work
Star ratings on minipeterborough come only from parents and carers who leave a review on this site. We never copy ratings or reviews from Google, Tripadvisor, Facebook or anywhere else.
Who can review
- Anyone who has used a provider themselves, for example a parent, carer or grandparent who took a child to a class, club, venue or party.
- Not the business owner, its staff, their relatives or friends, or anyone being paid or rewarded in any way for the review. Competitors must not review each other.
- Every reviewer has to confirm both of these before sending a review. We don't ask for your email or phone number.
Fake and incentivised reviews are not allowed
- We don't publish fake reviews: reviews that aren't based on the writer's own genuine experience.
- We don't pay for reviews or offer anything in return for them (no discounts, prize draws or free gifts), and we don't let providers do so. A review we learn was paid for or rewarded in any way is removed.
- Paying for a Featured listing never affects reviews. Providers can't buy, hide, remove or reorder reviews.
How we moderate reviews
- Every review is read by us before it appears, usually within a few days. Automatic checks also flag spam-trap hits, very fast submissions, repeated or near-identical text, bursts of reviews for one provider, and links or contact details in the text.
- We look for signs of fake or self-written reviews, but we can't verify every visit, so please read reviews as one parent's experience.
- We don't change what people write. The only exception is removing personal details (such as a child's or staff member's name or a phone number), which we mark as [removed].
- If we later find a review was fake, we take it down. If we find a business has been posting or arranging fake reviews, we remove them and may show a notice on its listing.
- We review these checks regularly and tighten them if fakes get through.
Negative reviews are published
We publish honest negative and mixed reviews just as we publish positive ones. We never hold a review back because it's critical, and we don't put positive reviews first: reviews are shown newest first, and the average includes every published parent review.
We don't publish reviews that are spam, abusive, off-topic, contain personal information about children or staff, or make allegations of crimes. If you have a safeguarding concern or think a crime has happened, please contact the provider and the right authority (in an emergency call 999; for concerns about a child, Peterborough's children's services or the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000), not a review.
Team reviews
Sometimes the minipeterborough team reviews a place we've genuinely visited ourselves. These are clearly labelled "Our visit: reviewed by the minipeterborough team" with the month we went, shown separately, and they don't count towards the parent rating or number of reviews. If we have any commercial relationship with the provider, such as a paid Featured listing, we say so on the review.
For businesses
- You can't remove a review, but you can report one you believe breaks these rules, and you can send a short public reply, which we'll show under the review. Use our contact form and include the listing and the reviewer's name to show.
- Please don't ask for, write or reward reviews of your own business. Encouraging genuine customers to leave an honest review is fine, as long as nothing is offered in return.
How to report a review
Every review section has a "Report a review" link, or use our contact form. Tell us which listing, which review (the name and date shown), and why. We'll look at it, normally within 5 working days, and take it down if it breaks these rules.
These rules follow the UK's ban on fake reviews (Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024) and the CMA's guidance on fake reviews. Last updated 19 October 2026.
